Welcome from 2 years 9 months to 4 years
At Dimples Montessori, all children of three years and over are taught using the Montessori Method. This method was initially developed by Dr Maria Montessori whereby the child is encouraged to work at their own pace, as an individual, developing their own skills, interests and thus personality. One of the aims of Montessori is to encourage the child’s natural desire to learn, emotional growth, physical co-ordination, develop social skills as well as cognitive development, in a prepared environment.
At Dimples Childcare, children are in a safe environment they know and love. This makes learning more effective and fun. Our Montessori program is a comprehensive skill-based program based on Maria Montessori`s philosophy.
Our classroom is designed and fully equipped with Montessori materials to prepare children for starting school. We want your child to enjoy and appreciate the educational process. Lessons are tailored to meet your child’s individual needs and designed to give children opportunities to explore, question, communicate, and create in a fun, supportive environment.
When the goal is learning, it is essential to use methods that work, we feel the Montessori Method of Education and our adapted environment will support the fulfilment of your child’s greatest potential. In our Montessori class, our teachers know that the key to your child’s happiness is a challenging learning experience and the encouragement to learn within a caring, nurturing environment
Our Montessori curriculum consists of Practical Life Activities, Exercises of Grace and Courtesy, Sensorial, Language, Math’s, Geography and Social Studies materials, as well as additional programmes in music, art, dance, crafts and physical education.
Group time is also an integral part of yourMontessori day, when your child learns to enhance his or her social skills. Our teachers invite your child to listen, share, take turns, cooperate, demonstrate curiosity, and give and receive feedback. These social development skills support your children’s ability to flourish in a classroom environment and demonstrate new learning—while having fun!
Daily activities develop reading and writing skills and introduce important literacy concepts. We use high-quality children’s literature to promote a love of reading.
Children are introduced to the rich world of numbers, including sorting, grouping, and counting, as well as more advanced math skills.
Children develop their large motor skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, and kicking. They also practice coordination skills needed for writing, drawing, cutting, and other activities.
